Stasis Owner | Yoga & Meditation Teacher | Reiki Master

I faced numerous emotional challenges from a young age, including my parents' divorce, depression, bullying, low self-confidence and worth, and a rough relationship. Additionally, debilitating illnesses lasting over a decade forced me to give up my original passion of competitive dance. However, meeting Estefan ignited a light within me that had been dormant for so long. I committed to building mental, emotional, and physical strength, which led me to discover a new passion for yoga and Reiki healing.

These years of healing and growth have given me the ability to bring compassion and understanding to every class and to offer specific support to those who are injured or dealing with illness. Through yoga, I discovered that it offers much more than just physical benefits; it provides a path to opening up and finding oneself. I am dedicated to creating a welcoming, nurturing, positive, and peaceful environment for every student. I am grateful for my experiences, as they have provided me with valuable lessons and knowledge to share with others

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the class size?

The Stasis YTT is kept at small class size in order to provide more individual attention from the teacher.

Is there an age prerequisite?

Our Stasis Yoga Teacher Training starts at the age of 16.

Is a Yoga Alliance Certification necessary?

Yoga teachers do not need to be certified by Yoga Alliance in order to teach yoga. Check out our blog post that answers this question in detail.

Do I have to have yoga experience before taking the Stasis Yoga Teacher Training?

It is recommended to have about six months of consistent yoga experience but is not mandatory as our teacher training is for all levels. The benefit of having some previous experience will allow you to arrive with a bit of an understanding of what yoga truly has to offer and build off that.

Do I need to physical be capable of doing every pose perfectly? What if I have a physical limitation?

Yoga teaching is not only for the physically fit. You will not be evaluated on your ability to hold the poses. If you have physical limitations or an injury, you can still teach! Yoga teaching has an extremely strong focus on verbal cueing and walkthroughs. Yes, demonstrating poses to your students is very helpful, however there are ways around that especially with particular styles of yoga. Yoga is also about getting your students to understand and accept their own limits as well as how work with the issue they may be presented with, just like you may have experienced or currently are experiencing. Yoga is for every age and every body.

How do I know if I am ready to take a teacher training program?

All you need is the desire to want to teach and help others deepen their yoga practice, as well as deepening your own practice. Our yoga teacher training is designed to help you become an excellent and knowledgeable yoga teacher but also to start you down a path of self discovery and acceptance. We do recommend that you have about six months of consistent yoga experience prior to a teacher training however this is not mandatory. Check out our blog post for a more details that may help you make the decision!

I have already taken a 200+ hour teacher training however it didn’t give me enough to feel like I can be a good teacher. How will this training benefit me?

Many students don’t feel satisfied or fulfilled with their initial teacher trainings (especially if it was conducted online). This could be for many reasons however the most common is that there wasn’t a wide enough range of information taught and the information given wasn’t in depth enough therefore graduates feel limited in their knowledge. Our in-person yoga teacher training provides a lot of hands-on work and will also give you extra reading material on top of the wide variety of in-depth lessons you will go through.

Will the Stasis Yoga Teacher Training cover other parts of a yogic lifestyle, besides the physical practice/teaching?

100% yes. Although there is a strong focus on the physical poses, we will also be covering meditation, pranayama (breath work), the chakras, self acceptance worksheets, myofascial release and more!

What if I already know I want to specialize in a particular style of yoga?

Our Stasis Yoga Teacher Training strongly focuses on Hatha and Yin but will also cover Vinyasa and Restorative. This will give you a strong base that can be implemented into any teaching style. You will also gain an understanding of how to use these styles in order to create a more therapeutic, gentle, hot yoga, flow or power focused class. It is always best to have a strong foundation in multiple styles before specializing in one style.

Can I teach with this certification?

Of course you can! You will be able to teach group classes (studios, gyms, wellness centers, senior centers, schools etc.), private sessions, corporate classes and even hold retreats and workshops. You will also be able to obtain insurance (which will be discussed in the Business of Yoga module). Once you graduate, you will receive a certificate of completion for our Stasis Yoga Teacher Training and will officially become a CYT (Certified Yoga Teacher).
